Weddings on a Monday? Not the most common day of the week (though there are advantages!) however the 29th of February isn’t your average date either! This leap year brought something extra special: a secret elopement in the heart of Melbourne. Leesa and Stuart chose to tie the knot quietly, and I was lucky enough to be invited along to capture some beautiful, relaxed Treasury Gardens wedding photography.

A Low-Key Leap Year Wedding

Leesa’s sister Brooke reached out with the brief: no fuss, just a few lovely photos to remember the moment. The couple were keeping things under-wraps until a family lunch the following weekend, where they planned to surprise everyone with the big news. How fun is that? It was one of the most laid-back weddings ever. Just a sweet ceremony, a couple of witnesses, a celebratory coffee, and a stroll through Melbourne’s gorgeous Treasury Gardens. The whole vibe was intimate and joyful.
