Bec and Ben

Sorrento Beach Wedding Photography – All Smiles Sorrento

There’s always something especially heart-melting about photographing a wedding where the couple has already spent most of their lives loving one another. Bec and Ben are childhood sweethearts who tied the knot in their early twenties, already a decade into their story together. Their stunning coastal wedding was filled with sunshine, laughter, and some seriously photogenic magic… a perfect introduction to solo-Sorrento-Beach wedding photography for me!

Pre-Wedding Prep: Calm, Joyful, and Full of Laughs

The day kicked off at the girls’ Airbnb, where Skye Drake and Bessie Seal of Mornington Peninsula Wedding Hair and Makeup were putting the final touches on glam. With florals from Rosebud Flower Shop, matching details throughout, and champagne flowing, the energy was joyful from the start. One of the most tender moments came when Bec’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time… so many the happy tears! I loved capturing the relaxed laughs and quiet anticipation on the property’s balcony before the whirlwind of the ceremony began. A quick hop over to the boys’ Airbnb found an equally upbeat vibe. Ben and the groomsmen shared easy banter as they suited up, helping one another with ties and cufflinks. These “getting ready” moments always tell such a beautiful side of the story – often unseen by the other partner until they relive it all in the album.

A Seaside Ceremony at All Smiles Sorrento

Set above the glittering curve of Sorrento’s Bay, the ceremony was a vision. The weather held out beautifully (bless!), and Mornington Chauffeured Limousines got Ben and the boys to the venue with time to spare. I scoped out the changing light and framed my shots – eager to make the most of my first official go at Sorrento Beach wedding photography without an assistant or second shooter. It is such a glorious area and a delight to capture everyone’s joy in such idyllic surrounds. Celebrant Kat Sillars led a heartfelt and hilarious ceremony that had guests smiling one moment and dabbing away tears the next. Bec and Ben radiated happiness from the moment they locked eyes – and the shot of their first kiss? Absolutely frame-worthy. It even became Pause The Moment’s Facebook profile picture for a time!

Portraits, Parties, and Golden Light

After the family portraits, we headed to the beach for some relaxed, natural portraits with the bridal party. Though we missed the final moments of sunset thanks to speeches (always a tough trade-off!), the lead-up gave us rich, warm light and a completely empty beach backdrop… photographer heaven! From champagne-popping fun to editorial-style portraits that wouldn’t look out of place in Vogue, the energy was perfect. The party kicked off inside All Smiles with style and laughter, and it was genuinely hard to tear myself away when the time came to drive back to Melbourne. It had been one of those days that reminds me exactly why I do this: storytelling through light, love, and a few very happy blinky-tears. Thank you, Bec and Ben, for letting me be part of your extraordinary day. Wishing you a lifetime of the same sunshine you brought to your beach wedding. 💛
