Seaford Pier Engagement Photography
Amanda and Ged’s Seaford Pier engagement shoot had all the good stuff: warm summer light, windswept dunes, and two people completely smitten with each other. It’s always such a joy capturing this stage in a couple’s story, especially when the location delivers so much magic too.
Summer Vibes at Seaford Pier
Tucked just south of Melbourne, Seaford Pier is one of those places that feels like a quiet escape… golden sand, dramatic skies, and that long wooden jetty stretching out over the glistening bay. It made the perfect backdrop for Amanda and Ged’s beachside engagement shoot. Together, we wandered through the dunes and along the shore, capturing soft, candid moments as they walked hand in hand. There was an ease to the way they moved together, the kind of quiet chemistry that makes my job as an engagement photographer feel less like work and more like tagging along on a particularly sweet date!
Photos Under the Pier (Yes Please!)
A standout moment? Shooting beneath the pier, where the light filters through the slats above and the shadows add depth and texture. These are always some of my favourite frames — moody, cinematic, and a little bit romantic. And with the sun setting over the water, the timing couldn’t have been better. We wrapped the shoot on the pier itself, with the ocean lapping gently at the pylons below. Amanda and Ged were relaxed, joyful, and totally present… which always translates beautifully in the final gallery.
Why Seaford Pier is a Hidden Gem
If you’re planning your engagement session in Melbourne, don’t overlook Seaford Pier. It offers everything you’d want for a beach shoot – variety, great light, and a little sense of escape – without the crowds of some of the better-known coastal spots. This shoot with Amanda and Ged was such a lovely way to kick off their wedding journey. I hope you all enjoy this little glimpse into some of the moments of this golden, windswept afternoon by the water!
Engagement Photography Sessions
Engagement sessions are such a great way to ease into being in front of the camera. Every couple who embraces the chance for a pre-wedding shoot gets the opportunity to relax into candid moments and gentle, natural-feeling poses, and have a good laugh along the way. It’s a fun, low-pressure setting that not only helps you feel more confident but can also double as a source for invitation photos, thank you cards, or even wedding-day decor! Whether we’re taking engagement portraits, catching up in person, or chatting via video call, I always love connecting with couples ahead of the big day. That little bit of time together helps everything flow more smoothly… and honestly, it’s just fun for everyone.
