Warrandyte Wedding Photography – Riverfront Romance and a Very Good Dog
Warrandyte has a special kind of magic — lush native landscapes, flowing riverbanks, and a feeling of calm that makes it a dream setting for a wedding. Catherine and Simon chose to celebrate their big day at their family property there, and what a day it was. Full of love, laughter, and even a ring-bearing Golden Retriever, this Warrandyte wedding was unforgettable from start to finish.
Fun fact: this wedding actually fell on my birthday! But with the heartfelt vows, garden magic, and one of the best ring-bearing dogs I’ve ever met, they were the ones giving me a gift by letting me be there to capture it all.
Getting Ready in the Heart of Warrandyte
The morning began at Hair Co. Warrandyte, where the bride and her crew were getting glammed up amid the hum of curling wands and coffee cups. It also happened to be my birthday — and honestly, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than surrounded by joy and anticipation. The energy was contagious. The ceremony was originally set for the garden, but the weather had other plans. Rain clouds rolled in just as vows were about to begin, prompting a quick pivot indoors. Thankfully, the indoor setup was just as beautiful, and spirits stayed high.
Who’s a Good Page Boy?
The clear MVP of the ceremony? Their Golden Retriever, who trotted down the aisle with the rings like a pro… well, almost. A few damp distractions later, he was gently coached to the finish line – only to later throw himself joyfully into the pool. Iconic. Splashy. Captured!
Portraits by the Yarra
As the rain cleared, we stepped outside for group shots on the lawn. The sunlight came through at just the right moment, bringing everything (and everyone) to life. From there, we ventured down to a few favourite riverside spots along the Yarra – quiet pockets of nature where Catherine and Simon could share a breath and some sweet, stolen glances. The light was dreamy, their connection was effortless, and the resulting images? Timeless.
Reception Feels
Back at the house, the reception was already buzzing. Heartfelt speeches, incredible food, a band that had everyone up dancing, and a bride with a great sense of humour (and an impressively large knife) all made for an epic night. It was one of those weddings where you can feel the love not just between the couple, but in the whole room.
