CROATIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Every family has different traditions and unique ways of making their wedding day memorable. Different cultures have different practices that make for a lot of fun. Seeing other slices of the globe at a wedding is one of the best parts of our job! Croatian wedding photography is no different. Annie and Stipo hosted us for our second Croatian wedding, and we had a blast shooting their wedding all across Melbourne.
CROATIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS – THE DAY BEGINS
As usual, we started off the morning nice and early. We split up so that we were able to photograph both the bride and the groom getting ready. The houses were full of flowers, food, and smiles. The grey sky was not a concern. As with all our weddings (especially winter ones), there were contingency plans in place in case the Melbourne weather lived up to its reputation. Annie’s gorgeous umbrella was a beautiful touch, complimenting her lacy dress. This has since inspired us to buy a gorgeous set of umbrellas for whoever may or may not need them in the future!
ST NICHOLAS CHURCH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Muscle cars appear to be the “in” thing for weddings. Annie and Stipo chose two beautifully restored Ford Falcon GTs to take them to the church in Clifton Hill, and boy, did they arrive in style despite the rain. The site has had a church on it since 1870, and it is possible that some of the inner section of the church survives from that time. The parsonage was built in 1880. The Croatian community purchased the church in 1961, and it has been a hub for the community ever since. It’s a gorgeous old building, and we loved creating some beautiful Croatian wedding photography here.
MELBOURNE CBD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY ON A RAINY DAY
Melbourne has lots of secret places that are ideal for wedding photography. It can be challenging when the weather is nasty. There are lots of hidden gems. You need someone who knows where to look so that you can find the many different buildings and laneways that offer protection from the elements. Many of the older buildings that have been converted into arcades will even let you come inside for your wedding photography. Annie looked terrific against a backdrop of ethereal green lanterns in one building, and there were a few other stops around the CBD that highlighted this gorgeous couple on their wedding day. There are plenty of places for cars to park too. This makes it an ideal destination for Croatian wedding photography.

CROATIAN WEDDING RECEPTION AT THE SOVEREIGN
The evening finished with a terrific reception at The Sovereign in Thornbury. There was a beautiful Croatian spread, cocktails, and lots of exuberant cultural dances! The Croatian band Grupa More (who we had met at a previous wedding) were in full flight. The band kept everyone on their feet so the dancing never stopped. Annie and Stipo had a ball and thus were a pleasure to photograph. We were so happy to be their photographers. We wish them all the best for their future as husband and wife!
