Ferny Creek Wedding Photography – Dandenong Ranges
Jessica and Sam chose the lush surrounds of the Ferny Creek Horticultural Society for their wedding, and what a backdrop it was. Nestled in the Dandenong Ranges, the gardens delivered fog, mood, and a dash of Melbourne-weather unpredictability — all of which made for some unforgettable Ferny Creek wedding photography.
A First Look in the Mist
The day began under soft grey skies — the kind that make colours pop and everything feel a little more cinematic. Jessica and Sam got ready separately, surrounded by loved ones and a whole lot of excitement. Jess looked radiant with her vibrant bouquet and timeless dress, and a few Mustang-side portraits later, it was off to Ferny Creek. Sam and the groomsmen arrived first, helping the bridesmaids prepare for a first look that felt straight out of a movie. The gardens, wrapped in gentle fog, were the perfect setting.
Wedding Photography at Ferny Creek
The ornamental gardens, established in 1932, were a dream to photograph. With rolling greenery, charming structures, and moody skies overhead, every frame felt rich and grounded in nature. We made the most of every dry moment before the inevitable happened… Melbourne weather made a comeback. Just as Jess was about to walk down the aisle, the drizzle turned to proper rain.
A Venue with Wet Weather Wedding Photography Plans
Plans shifted, as they do, and the ceremony moved inside. But the Ferny Creek hall rose to the occasion: warm, welcoming, and beautifully styled. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt touches, some perfectly timed laughs, and more than a few tears. Celebrant Michael Dillon kept things flowing with warmth and humour, while Jess and Sam exchanged vows framed by the characterful indoor bandstand. As the formalities gave way to festivity, the Ferny Creek recreation hall transformed. Between a well-stocked photo booth, delicious food, and speeches that balanced humour and heart, the celebration carried long into the night.
