FERNY CREEK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Jessica and Sam decided upon the intimate setting of the Ferny Creek Horticultural Society as the location for their wedding. The beautiful gardens in the Dandenong Ranges provided the incredible bushland backdrop for their Ferny Creek wedding photography! With the mist rolling in on a day when the weather couldn't make up its mind, it was nearly impossible to take a bad photograph! Established in 1932, the gardens at the ferny creek horticultural society are an excellent place for an outdoor wedding. The outdoor setting for their first look was like something out of a movie, so we had to ensure we nailed it. The weather, of course, had other ideas...
MELBOURNE WEATHER - YOU NEVER KNOW...
Grey skies and the odd sprinkle started the day. However, they failed to dampen the spirits as the couple got ready. Their loved ones surrounded Jessica and Sam as they prepared for their wedding. Jessica's colourful artificial bouquet looked stunning, as did she as she walked out in her wedding dress. Her parents were thrilled to see her as she walked out after getting ready. After a few portraits with the Mustang she was to arrive in, it was time to head to Ferny Creek. Would the Melbourne weather hold out for the wedding? What weather would the infamous Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne's east hold for us?
Wedding Photography in Ferny Creek
Sam and the boys headed to the venue first and, along with the bridesmaids, prepared for Sam and Jess's first look. Amidst the rolling fog and the gorgeous gardens, the Mustang arrived and parked behind the ensemble so that Jessica could sneak up behind Sam without him seeing. There wasn't a dry eye as Sam turned around and was instantly moved to tears at the sight of his new bride-to-be.
After the first look, it was time for some Ferny Creek wedding photography! The images we captured were stunning, and the foggy afternoon added to the mood. The ornamental gardens are a hit with plant collectors, and they can put on a real autumn show. However, the weather had decided to take a turn for the worse, with rain setting in just as Jessica was about to walk down the aisle. At the very last minute, we had to move their wedding and their wedding photography inside!

A BEAUTIFUL CEREMONY AND A WONDERFUL PARTY!
With everyone settled inside, Jess was walked down the aisle by her father. The bandstand made a perfect backdrop for the ceremony, which Michael Dillon conducted beautifully. Many laughs, a poem or two and none-too-many tears were shared with the crowd. Once the formalities were out of the way, it was time for a party. Jessica and Sam knew what they were doing on that front, and with a delicious spread and plenty to drink, the crowd knew exactly what to do. They partied till the wee hours. Everyone enjoyed the photo booth. The speeches were funny and moving. The versatile Ferny Creek recreation hall shone with its decorations. We were wrapped to be their wedding photographers in Ferny Creek. We wish them all the best for the future!
