A Warm Ceremony at the Russian Orthodox Church of Pokrov in Brunswick
On a crisp August afternoon, Liz and Gem were married in a beautifully sunlit ceremony at the Russian Orthodox Church of Pokrov in Brunswick. The warm glow streaming through the windows was matched only by the emotion in the room. It was a ceremony filled with quiet reverence, genuine connection, and the steady presence of Father Nicholas Karipoff and the church team, whose kind guidance helped everything unfold beautifully.

Surrounded by loved ones, the couple exchanged vows in a setting that felt both sacred and personal. Afterward, we took the opportunity for a few intimate portraits in the church and group photos with family and guests. From heartfelt hugs to tearful smiles, the joy was unmistakable.
Lakeside Portraits at Stillwater at Crittenden
From Brunswick, it was time to head to Stillwater at Crittenden, a dreamy Dromana destination I have photographed at many times, that offers sweeping vineyard views, a peaceful lake, and enough charm to weather even a wintry day. The couple arrived in time for some gorgeous portraits on the grounds, with the overcast sky giving everything a moody, romantic glow.

Despite the chill in the air, Stillwater came through with thoughtful details: outdoor heaters, a charming caravan-style drinks bar, and plenty of cosy nooks for family photos before guests began arriving. Liz’s bouquet featured pops of orange among classic roses, peonies, and anemones, which tied beautifully into the wedding cake they made themselves adorned with white, orange and blue floral details… a stunning personal touch from Liz herself (a qualified chef)!
An Intimate Reception Full of Emotion
The reception inside Stillwater was elegant and heartfelt from start to finish. With styling that complemented the natural surrounds, and a close-knit guest list, the atmosphere was one of quiet warmth and deep emotion. Speeches were delivered with tenderness and humour, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

From close family to best friends, the genuine love for Liz and Gem filled every corner of the venue. With a six-hour photography booking, there was plenty of time through the final speeches and cake cutting, capturing all the joy and connection leading up to the evening festivities. The energy in the room made it clear: this was a celebration that would carry long into the night!
