Pierrette and Charbel

A Joyful Lebanese Wedding in Melbourne at Leonda

The 2025 wedding season kicked off in spectacular fashion with Pierrette and Charbel’s stunning Lebanese celebration – a day overflowing with love, music, tradition, and sparkle. From joyful family moments in the morning to a fairytale sparkler exit by boat, every part of this wedding radiated warmth, culture, and pure happiness.

A Family-Filled Morning with Music, Laughter & Love

The day began with Pierrette and Charbel each getting ready in homes filled with excited family, vibrant tradition, and the unmistakable buzz of something big about to unfold. Lebanese musicians brought the party early – playing traditional tunes as both houses filled with dancing, drumming, and celebratory cheers. There was no mistaking the joy – it was loud, proud, and beautiful. For Pierrette, the morning was shared with family, bridesmaids, and her sweet flower girl, with hair and makeup unfolding amid laughter, hugs, and heartfelt blessings. Meanwhile, Charbel’s morning was no less lively – a house alive with cousins, music, and the kind of pre-wedding buzz that makes everyone burst into smiles!

A Heartfelt Ceremony at Our Lady of Lebanon Church, Thornbury

The couple exchanged vows in the stunning Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Thornbury – a Melbourne icon known for its grand interiors, spiritual atmosphere, and strong sense of community. The ceremony was moving and musical, with sung sections which filled the church with emotion. Children played sweet supporting roles, and the flower girl nearly stole the show with her gentle presence and big heart. There was something truly sacred in the air as Pierrette and Charbel said their vows, surrounded by family and heritage.

Wedding Portraits in Fitzroy Gardens – Gorgeous!

After the ceremony, we made our way to Fitzroy Gardens – one of Melbourne’s most iconic locations for wedding photography. The gardens were glowing in the late afternoon light, with golden rays spilling between trees and dancing across the paved walkways. Despite the near-40°C summer heat, Pierrette and Charbel were full of giggles and laughter. They walked hand-in-hand through winding paths, stealing kisses and sharing quiet smiles that made for the most natural, heartfelt portraits. Their bridal party added even more colour and energy – from the flower girl and ring bearers to the dazzling maid of honour in green and the best man in a sharp, classic suit. We paused for photos under leafy canopies, took a few fun detours, and made the most of the garden’s fairytale vibes. To keep cool, everyone stayed hydrated between photos. Their classic wedding cars added a timeless, classy vibe to the day’s aesthetic. Fitzroy Gardens never fails to deliver that perfect blend of nature and romance, and this shoot was no exception!

Reception Magic at Leonda by the Yarra

After the portraits in the gardens, it was time to head to Leonda by the Yarra, one of Melbourne’s most beloved riverside venues. With floor-to-ceiling windows, sparkling chandeliers, and elegant waterside views, Leonda was the perfect setting for the next chapter of celebration. The reception kicked off with traditional Lebanese drumming and dancing, filling the space with energy and spirit. Platters of incredible food kept coming – from mezza to mains to a jaw-dropping dessert table. Later, the dancefloor took on a life of its own with both classic Lebanese tunes and dancefloor hits lighting up the night.

Pyrotechnics, Sparklers & a Boat Exit to Remember

Just when things couldn’t get any more magical, the couple lit up the evening – quite literally. Pyrotechnics flared to life (more than once!) as Pierrette and Charbel were celebrated on the dancefloor. Later, friends and family lined the waterfront with sparklers in hand as the couple made their grand exit. And then… a boat appeared. Yes, an actual boat. As the sparklers shimmered, Pierrette and Charbel sailed away beneath the stars – waving goodbye to an unforgettable day and heading off into married life with the most cinematic send-off imaginable.
