Bee and TJ’s wedding at Sandringham Yacht Club was nothing short of joyful, vibrant, and gloriously sunny – the kind of day that reminds you how fun weddings can be when everyone leans into the celebration. Their ceremony on the balcony was full of laughter, love, and a few unexpected accessories (yes, dress-up hats made a memorable appearance)! It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this relaxed, light-hearted wedding overlooking the bay.

One of the more iconic pre-wedding rituals I’ve witnessed? Bee and her bridesmaids ducked out for a classic Saturday morning Bunnings sausage before the ceremony. What a legend. These kinds of little rituals can be the perfect way to ground yourself on a whirlwind day and I hope it becomes and ongoing tradition!

It was such a joy to be recommended to Bee by her dear friend Laura, whose wedding I’d photographed not long before. Seeing her again – this time as a guest – made the day feel like a reunion in the best possible way. Even better? The outrageously gorgeous vintage car that brought Bee to the ceremony belonged to Laura’s dad (who used it for Laura’s wedding too… and back in the day picked her up from school in it!). I love when stories connect like in this way, when one celebration flows into the next… and it means the world to be invited back into these circles of love, friendship, connection and family.

Sandringham Yacht Club is a dream of a venue… modern, elegant, and perfectly positioned for a sunset over the water. Bee and TJ made the most of the setting, saying their vows out on the balcony with the sea breeze in the air and smiles all around. By planning everything onsite, they kept the day seamless and stress-free… no rushing between locations, just soaking it all in.

After the ceremony, we slipped away for a golden hour portrait session, making the most of the warm light and the wide-open sky. Sandringham Beach is one of my favourite spots for sunset photos. It faces west, which means you get those soft, glowing skies that wrap around a couple like a cinematic hug. With the venue, portraits, and reception all happening in one place, it meant more time for Bee and TJ to be with their people, soaking in the celebration. That joy really shines through in the photos – there’s a certain sparkle you can see a mile away, and these two had it in spades.
