Laura and Liam’s November wedding was a stunner from start to finish – a perfect blend of elegance, emotion, and sunset magic. Their Sandringham Beach wedding was impeccably styled, and the planning paid off in every frame. From a classic car to a first look in the Carlton Gardens, and a golden-hour photo session by the bay, these two nailed the art of wedding day flow.
A First Look at Carlton Gardens
Before heading to the ceremony, Laura and Liam opted for a first look at Melbourne’s iconic Carlton Gardens. It’s always such a personal decision: some couples prefer to wait for the aisle moment, while others love the intimacy and calm of a quiet reveal beforehand. Laura and Liam’s first look was absolutely gorgeous. The late afternoon light filtering through the trees near the Royal Exhibition Building made for an ethereal scene. The photo sequence? Heart-melting.
Ceremony at Sandringham Yacht Club
Laura and Liam had their ceremony on the sun-drenched balcony of Sandringham Yacht Club overlooking the water. A joy-filled ceremony with lots of laughs!
Sunset Wedding Photos on Sandringham Beach
One of the best things about a Sandringham Yacht Club beach wedding? That west-facing view. Laura and Liam carved out a perfect hour in their schedule – 7:45 to 8:45 pm at tha time of year – and it made all the difference. We ducked out from the reception for a sweet and giggle-filled portrait photo session just as the sun dipped low over Port Phillip Bay. Soft light, still air, warm sand… everything aligned. The result? A breathtaking final portrait set that truly captured their connection.
A Lovely Full-Circle Moment
One of the greatest joys in this work is the way celebrations ripple outwards. Not long after Laura and Liam’s beautiful day, Laura kindly recommended me to her dear friend Bee, and I had the pleasure of photographing Bee and TJ’s wedding at the very same venue! Being welcomed back into the same circle of friends and family was incredibly special, and such a testament to the warm, generous spirit Laura and Liam brought to their wedding.

The celebration continued at the beautiful Sandringham Yacht Club… a one-stop-shop venue with class, comfort, and knockout views. The speeches had the best sunset backdrop you could ever wish for, the food was divine, and the dance floor was packed thanks to a killer live band. The joy in the room was infectious. It was such a privilege to photograph Laura and Liam’s day. They planned with intention, trusted the process, and brought their full selves to every moment. That’s when the magic happens!
