A Riverside Pet Portrait Session in Templestowe
Jack Russell Joy!
It is always a delight and a privilege to be right beside the Yarra River at such a private, leafy spot in Templestowe. For this photoshoot it was a special treat to meet some gorgeous Jack Russell crosses: an uncle-nephew duo (yes… “Russell” and “Jack-Jack”!) along with their (equally gorgeous) human parents, and another bonus extended-family pup who was there to join in on the adventure – the more the merrier! We all had a fantastic afternoon in the sunshine.

We began with relaxed portraits on a timber bench and a riverside table, then wandered along sun-drenched paths for candid, nose-to-the-wind moments. Next, a visit to one of my favourite places for dog photography: the ivy-kissed, romantically overgrown tennis court. It is a perfect arena for off-leash shenanigans: fetch, racing and a little playful wrestling. Lastly, we set out a picnic blanket for warm family-of-four portraits in the late afternoon glow.

A little trivia: “Paws The Moment” predated Pause The Moment …which is where it all began in 2014! Wedding photography, family photography and celebration photography rapidly became the focus, and fortuitously the ‘un-punned’ version of the same name was available when the time came for new business cards! I still love photographing fur-families just as much as human ones, so if you’re dreaming of relaxed, natural pet photography in Templestowe (or anywhere around Melbourne), I’d love to be there for the muddy paws, the happy zoomies, and all the cuddles!
