Yarra Valley Wedding Photography at Tokar Estate
Tucked away on the delightfully named Maddens Lane in Coldstream, Tokar Estate turned out to be one of the most charming wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of photographing! I’d lunched there several times before with friends and colleagues (delicious and amazing, and my wine collection thanked me!) but arriving that morning with a camera in hand made me see it with fresh eyes. Christina clearly saw the wedding potential long before I did… the blooming rose garden and dramatic mountain backdrop made for a stunning setting. But there was more! A lovely relaxed morning of getting-ready shots and, later in the day, we headed just down the road for their beautiful reception at Bella Vedere, filled with vineyards and golden light.
A Dreamy Ceremony at Tokar Estate
The morning was full of heartfelt moments in both locations. A few hours later, as I pulled into the winding gravel driveway, Tokar Estate fully revealed itself. The long rows of vines, golden light on the ochre buildings, and distant ridgeline of the Great Dividing Range made it clear: this was an ideal spot for Yarra Valley wedding photography. Their intimate ceremony was held beneath a shady tree in the garden — elegant, simple, and full of heart.
Reception at Bella Vedere
Just a short drive from Tokar, Bella Vedere was the perfect next chapter in their celebration. Tucked beside the Maroondah Highway, the restaurant felt like a countryside haven — rustic charm, seasonal produce, and a warm, welcoming vibe that made everyone feel at home. It was intimate, delicious, and authentically Yarra Valley.
Vineyard Wedding Photography
We snuck out for a few more portraits in the surrounding vineyards as the light softened, and I’m so glad we did — Christina and Chris positively glowed. Every little choice they made felt intentional, and the entire day ran beautifully from start to finish. I’m so grateful to have captured this lovely pair and their thoughtful, joy-filled wedding day.
